Gilbert O'Sullivan

Gilbert O’Sullivan – Out On His Own
RTE1 10.15pm

O’Sullivan is an intriguing soul. He could have easily followed many of his peers down the novelty seventies artist route but he has always kept his own counsel. As such he found himself out in thewilderness for many years but slowly consensus has come round to appreciate his talent for penning classy, classic pop songs. Adrian McCarthy’s excellent documentary reveals what makes him tick.

Later Live
BBC2 10pm

Still the best live music show on TV, pushed closely by our own Other Voices. After last week’s astonishing performance by Villagers, tonight sees a fine line-up of Band Of Horses, Plan B, Jack Bruce and Kate Nash. The extended addition airs on Friday.

Heston’s Feasts
Channel 4 9pm

The extreme cookery series continues with the Fat Duck chef dreaming up a menu for the final voyage of the Titanic, despite there being no record of what was actually served.
